Estate access is an employer checklist — not her guesswork
Registering your helper with condo security (Singapore) is the process to get your migrant domestic worker recognised by the guardhouse / management office so she can enter, exit, and receive deliveries without drama. Neighbour and family intros sit in Introducing Your Helper to Neighbours and Extended Family. Fire routes sit in Fire Drill Basics for HDB and Condo Units. This page owns security registration + access briefing.
General guidance only. MOM: mom.gov.sg. SmartMaid.com.sg is a marketplace. Licensed EAs place helpers. Condo rules vary by estate — follow your MCST / managing agent.

Step 1 — Ask management what they need
Typical asks (confirm with your estate):
- Helper full name as on Work Pass / passport
- Photo / photocopy of Work Pass (return originals promptly — Passport and Personal Documents Safekeeping for MDWs (Singapore))
- Unit number and employer contact
- Access card / tag application form
Do this before or on day one — not after she is stuck at the gate.
Step 2 — Complete registration with her present when useful
Bring her to the guardhouse / management office so staff recognise her face. Collect cards/tags in writing (who holds spare cards).
Step 3 — Brief estate rules she must follow
- Visitor registration for her friends / family
- Delivery collection points
- Quiet hours / pool / BBQ booking rules if relevant
- Rubbish / recycling locations
- What to say if guards stop her
Add a short “estate rules” line to house rules (Creating a Simple Written House Rules Sheet).
Step 4 — Access on rest days and late returns
Confirm she can exit/enter on rest days without calling you for every gate open (First Rest Day With a New Helper: Employer Checklist (Singapore)). If cards are limited, agree a practical plan — do not use access as punishment.
Step 5 — Update security when employment ends or you move
Deactivate cards, update the resident list, and collect tags. Moving checklist: Employer Checklist When Moving House With an MDW (Singapore).
