Step 1 — Decide day visit vs overnight early
Ask for dates and who is coming. Decide in writing:
- Day visit only (lobby / nearby café / your living room hours)
- Overnight in *your* home (yes / no / conditions)
- Overnight elsewhere (hotel / relative) with day visits only
Put the decision in house rules (#32).
Step 2 — Soft-check if you are unsure
If visitor status, condo guest rules, or employment conditions feel unclear, ask your licensed EA and follow soft MOM / estate guidance. Do not invent “you must / must not” legal rules yourself. Platform ≠ agency.
Step 3 — Privacy and shared spaces
Agree which rooms guests may enter, bathroom use, meal times, and quiet hours (#29). Neighbours and security may notice overnight guests — align with #42 and condo guest registration if required.
Step 4 — Rest day and duties during the visit
If the visit falls on a rest day, keep rest-day rights clear (#118). If it falls on a work day, agree what duties pause and what does not.
Step 5 — When you are away
If family visit overlaps employer travel, treat it as a stricter case of #134 — written yes/no on overnight guests while you are gone.
