Employer Checklist for Helper Dental or Eye-Care Visit (Singapore)

Published 22 August 2026

Dental and eye care are planned visits — not the same as a fever GP run

Employer checklist for helper dental or eye-care visit (Singapore) is the pack for dentist / polyclinic dental / optician appointments: who books, what to bring, soft payment habits, and glasses or treatment follow-up. First general GP/polyclinic visit sits in #146. Illness treatment responsibilities sit in #49. Emergencies sit in #38. This page owns dental and eye-care visits.

General guidance only — not clinical advice. Soft MOM: mom.gov.sg. SmartMaid.com.sg is a marketplace. Licensed EAs place helpers. Platform ≠ agency. No invented $ — ask the clinic for live fees; never invent treatment prices here.

Neighbouring hubs:

Step 1 — Book and protect the slot

Book dentist or eye clinic. Block work time around the appointment. If pain is acute overnight, use emergency path #38 first.

Step 2 — Pack soft docs

Work pass / ID as the clinic requires; prior prescriptions if any (#115). Update emergency contacts if stale (#151).

Step 3 — Payment habit (no invented $)

Agree who pays at the counter and how reimbursement works. Get live quotes from the clinic — never invent dollar amounts in house rules (#32). Treatment cost talks are not salary talks (#111); soft responsibility framing: #49.

Step 4 — After: meds, MC, glasses

  • Pain meds / antibiotics: follow label; store safely
  • MC issued → #110
  • Glasses / lenses: agree pickup timing and who pays for frames (live quote only)

General GP first-visit habits still useful: #146.

Step 5 — Soft MOM fairness

Do not delay urgent dental pain as “not real illness.” Confirm welfare framing on mom.gov.sg. Platform ≠ agency.

Soft MOM

Fair medical care expectations: soft only on mom.gov.sg. No invented $.

Scripts

To helper: We booked [dentist/eye clinic] at [time]. Bring your work pass. I will handle payment unless we agreed otherwise — bring the receipt home.

To co-employer: Dental and eye care get the same written payment habit as a GP visit — no invented fees.

Bottom line

Treat dental and eye-care as planned visits: book, pack docs, live payment habit, then follow up on MC or glasses. Browse on SmartMaid; place through a licensed EA under soft MOM rules.
