Employer Checklist for Helper’s First Polyclinic or GP Visit (Singapore)

Published 22 August 2026

The first clinic visit is a checklist — not a scramble at the counter

Employer checklist for helper’s first polyclinic or GP visit (Singapore) is the planned-visit pack: documents, accompaniment, soft payment habits, and what to do after. Emergency hospital/GP flow sits in #38. Treatment responsibilities when she is ill sit in #49. MC / medical-leave mapping sits in #110. Admission sits in #124. This page owns the first planned clinic visit.

General guidance only. Soft MOM: mom.gov.sg. SmartMaid.com.sg is a marketplace. Licensed EAs place helpers. Platform ≠ agency. No invented $ — clinic fees vary; ask the clinic / insurer / EA for live amounts.

Neighbouring hubs:

Step 1 — Book and decide who goes

Book the appointment. Decide if you accompany, send a co-employer, or she goes with a clear address card. Put the clinic name and time in a shared note (day-one habit from #33).

Step 2 — Pack the soft document set

Typically useful (confirm with clinic):

  • Work pass / ID as applicable
  • Any referral or prior notes
  • List of current symptoms / allergies / medicines

Safekeeping habits: #115. Do not invent “must bring X fee.”

Step 3 — Payment habit (no invented $)

Agree *before* the visit who pays at the counter and how reimbursement works if she pays first. Check live fees with the clinic — never invent dollar amounts in house rules (#32). Soft link to treatment responsibility framing in #49.

Step 4 — At the clinic

Help with registration language if needed. Keep privacy respectful. If it becomes an emergency transfer, switch to #38.

Step 5 — After: MC, meds, follow-up

  • If an MC is issued, map rest days via #110
  • Store the receipt and medicine instructions
  • Book follow-up if advised
  • If admitted later, use #124

Soft MOM

Scripts

To helper: Tomorrow we go to [clinic] at [time]. Bring your work pass and this symptom list. I will handle payment at the counter unless we agreed otherwise.

To co-employer: First clinic visit gets a written pack — docs, payment habit, follow-up — so we are not inventing fees at the window.

Bottom line

Plan the first clinic visit like a short checklist: docs, who goes, live payment habit, then MC/follow-up. Browse on SmartMaid; place through a licensed EA under soft MOM rules.
