She asked to leave — switch to process, not panic
When your helper wants to transfer to another employer (Singapore) is the employer playbook after an MDW says she wants to move to a different household. If you want a different helper, use #24. Full cancel / settle steps sit in #21.
General guidance only. Soft MOM: mom.gov.sg. SmartMaid.com.sg is a marketplace. Licensed EAs handle placement and Work Pass coordination. Platform ≠ agency.

Step 1 — Listen and write down the ask
- Preferred end / transfer timing she stated
- Reason category she is willing to share (fit, family, another offer) — no interrogation
- Whether another employer / EA is already involved
Stay calm. Do not confiscate phones or passports as punishment.
Step 2 — Loop your licensed EA the same day
Transfer-out is an employment / Work Pass process. Call or message your EA with facts (#26). Ask them to map lawful options for your case under soft MOM rules. Do not invent release fees on this page.
Step 3 — Clarify consent and next-employer path
Your EA should help you understand:
- What consent / release steps apply in your situation
- Whether a transfer to a named next employer is forming
- What documents you must keep or provide
- How this differs from a straight cancellation (#21)
Incoming employers use transfer paperwork themes in #106; you are on the outgoing side — coordinate handover notes via #60 when appropriate.
Step 4 — Protect the household while process runs
- Cover plan for kids / elderly / pets
- Keep duties fair until the last agreed working day
- Avoid last-week retaliation (extra unpaid work, withheld rest days)
Step 5 — Escalate only when process stalls or welfare is at risk
If communication breaks down, welfare is at risk, or you need official clarification, see #51 after EA advice. Soft MOM sources: mom.gov.sg.
