Your overnight guests need a house plan — not a surprise for the MDW
When you have overnight guests and an MDW (Singapore) is the employer process for family or friends staying overnight while a migrant domestic worker already lives in the home: where guests sleep, bathroom and kitchen access, privacy, quiet hours, and whether her rest day shifts. Helper-requested overnight visitors sit in #127. Helper family short stays sit in #143. Employer travel with helper home sits in #134. This page owns employer-side overnight guests.

Step 1 — Decide sleep space before guests arrive
Map who sleeps where. Prefer not to displace her bed without notice — if a temporary shift is unavoidable, use the change process in #176. Guests on living-room mattresses still need a quiet-hours line. Co-employers align early (#120).
Step 2 — Brief bathroom, kitchen, and common areas
Write which bathroom guests use, morning shower windows, and whether guests may enter the kitchen freely or ask first. Knock-and-wait still applies to her room (#29). Guests are visitors — not a second set of employers.
Step 3 — Privacy, phones, and quiet hours
Remind guests her room and belongings are off-limits. Phone / video call windows stay fair (#31). Set quiet hours so late chat does not become unpaid night duty. Festive density of guests is a related but separate plan (#133).
Step 4 — Rest-day and workload impact
If guests land on her rest day, decide early: keep the rest day, swap with a replacement rest day, or agree a fair temporary arrangement — confirm live rest-day norms on mom.gov.sg. Extra guest laundry or late meals are optional help only if you ask and she agrees — not an automatic duty. Put the plan in house rules (#32).
Step 5 — Soft MOM + one briefing
Tell her the guest dates, sleep map, bathroom/kitchen norms, and any rest-day tweak before arrival. Soft framing on fair accommodation and rest on mom.gov.sg. Platform ≠ agency. No invented $.

To helper: Friends/family stay overnight on [dates]. Guests sleep in [spot]; they use [bathroom]. Your room stays private. Quiet hours after [time]. Your rest day on [date] stays / we swap to [date] — confirm with me if anything feels unclear.
To overnight guests: Please use [bathroom], keep noise down after [time], and do not enter her room or ask her for late chores unless we have agreed. She is our household helper, not on-call for guests.
To co-employer: Overnight guests are a sleep-space + rest-day decision — we brief her in writing before they arrive (#120).
Bottom line
