Remittance is her money — you help with process, not control
When helper sends money home: remittance process (Singapore) is how employers support a migrant domestic worker’s remittances without inventing figures or taking over her account. First payday sits in #130. Bank account opening sits in #135. Advances sit in #113. This page owns the remittance support process.

- This article: remittance process
Step 1 — Align remittance with payday rhythm
Help her plan sends after salary clears — not mid-cycle panic that triggers endless advances (#113). Keep the payday record habit (#130).
Step 2 — She chooses the channel
Bank app, remittance desk, or other lawful channels she prefers. You may help with directions or language once; you do not keep her PINs or force a channel that lets you monitor every send (#135, #31).
Step 3 — Scam and pressure awareness
Warn gently about:
- Urgent “family emergency” messages that demand secrecy
- Strangers asking her to receive/send money for a fee
- Anyone (including employers) demanding her OTP
If something feels like coercion or trafficking risk, loop EA / soft MOM channels (#26).
Step 4 — What employers should not do
- Hold salary “for safekeeping” without her written request and clear process
- Rank remittance habits by nationality stereotype
- Shame her for supporting family
- Invent public “typical monthly send” figures
Step 5 — Document only when you are financially involved
If you lend for a remittance, use the written advance process (#113). Otherwise her sends are her business.
