Employer SingPass Setup Before Applying for a Work Permit

Published 26 August 2026

Most employer tasks for a helper are done online with Singpass: the Employers' Orientation Programme, Work Permit applications and renewals, levy matters and address updates. Setting up Singpass properly before you start saves time, especially if you are a first-time employer.

What you use Singpass for

  • Completing the online Employers' Orientation Programme (first-time employers).
  • Applying for, renewing or cancelling your helper's Work Permit in MOM's eServices.
  • Viewing levy bills and applying for levy concessions or waivers.
  • Updating your contact details and your helper's particulars in FDW eService.
  • Booking MOM appointments.

Setting up before you apply

  1. Install the Singpass app and complete the set-up with your NRIC or FIN.
  2. Check your contact details in Singpass, so MOM notifications reach you.
  3. Test a log-in to MOM's eServices so you know the flow before you need it.
  4. Keep your documents handy: your particulars, the helper's passport details and, for levy concession, details of the family member who qualifies.

Using an employment agency

Many employers let their licensed agency submit the application. The agency uses its own business account, but you will still use Singpass for tasks that need your own confirmation, such as the EOP or some declarations. Ask the agency which steps they handle and which you must do yourself.

Foreign employers

If you hold an eligible work pass, you can usually set up Singpass too. Check that your pass allows you to employ a helper; see our guide to employer eligibility.

Your helper's Singpass

If registration is required, MOM helps your helper set up her own Singpass and the SGWorkPass app at MOM Services Centre, so she can view her digital work pass.

Security tips

  • Never share your Singpass details, even with an agency.
  • Approve only log-in requests you started yourself.

Set this up a week or two before you plan to shortlist helpers. Sorting out Singpass early means the application can go in as soon as you choose a helper, without a delay on your side.

Keep your contact details current

MOM sends notices about your helper's Work Permit, levy and appointments to the email and mobile number on your employer record. Update them in FDW eService whenever they change. If you move house, update your residential address within 2 weeks; see our guide to moving house.

Check your details once a year, for example when you renew her Work Permit, so nothing important goes to an old inbox or number.

Common questions

Can my spouse use my Singpass?

Singpass is personal and should never be shared. If your spouse is the employer, they should use their own Singpass.

Do I need Singpass if my agency applies for me?

The agency can submit the application, but some steps, such as the online EOP for first-time employers, need your own Singpass log-in.
