If MOM rejects your helper's Work Permit application, first read the rejection advisory in FDW eService. You have 45 days from the date of application to appeal, but MOM says the outcome will not change unless you give new information or have fixed the rejection reason. Appeals cannot be made on the same day as the application. If you miss the 45 days, you must submit a new application, which MOM assesses on the prevailing criteria. 90% of appeals are processed within 2 weeks.
Appeal or reapply?
| Appeal | New application | |
|---|---|---|
| When | From the day after applying, up to 45 days from the application date | After the 45-day window, or with a different candidate |
| Worth it if | You can address the rejection reason with new information | Circumstances have changed, or you choose another helper |
| Who can do it | Only the employer or agent who applied | You, or an agency you authorise |
| Timing | 90% within 2 weeks | MOM aims for 1 week in FDW eService |

How to appeal
- Log in to FDW eService and read the rejection advisory for the reasons and next steps.
- From the next day, click "Appeal" and give your reasons. You can upload up to 5 supporting documents.
- Track the status and print the outcome letter in FDW eService. The outcome is also emailed.
MOM will not process appeals from the candidate or anyone other than the applicant.
Before reapplying
- Recheck the employer criteria: aged 21 or above, not an undischarged bankrupt, and able to care for the helper's well-being.
- Recheck her eligibility: female, 23 to below 50 at application, approved source country, at least 8 years of formal education.
- If this would be your 4th helper within 12 months, MOM requires you to attend the CONNECT Workshop run by AEA(S) first. See Frequent changes of MDWs.
