Maid Transfer Process in Singapore: Step-by-Step for Employers

Published 25 August 2026

Hiring a transfer maid can shorten deployment time, but the process still involves coordinated steps between outgoing employer, incoming employer, agencies, and MOM.

Before making an offer

Verify transfer availability and Work Permit status with the agency. Discuss notice period with the outgoing employer's side and confirm realistic start dates.

Incoming employer paperwork

Apply for transfer through FDW eService, arrange insurance and bond updates, and plan medical checks if required. Levy setup must continue without gaps where MOM rules apply.

Handover week

Clarify duties, rest days, and salary in a new contract. Good handover between employers reduces confusion for the helper and your household.
